Samsung appears set to continue with its cautious approach to smartphone charging, as new certification details suggest the upcoming Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will retain charging speeds already familiar to users of recent Galaxy flagships.

The two devices have reportedly appeared on China’s 3C certification database, offering an early look at Samsung’s charging plans ahead of the expected launch of the Galaxy S27 series.

According to the listing, the standard Galaxy S27, carrying model number SM-S9520, will support 25W wired charging. That is unchanged from the Galaxy S26 and continues a charging limit Samsung has maintained on its base Galaxy S models for several generations.

The Galaxy S27+, identified as SM-S9560, is listed with support for 45W wired charging. While faster than the standard model, it also represents no major improvement over Samsung’s previous Plus-series flagships.

The certification suggests Samsung is once again choosing consistency over aggressive charging upgrades.

Several rival Android manufacturers have pushed charging speeds significantly higher in recent years, but Samsung has continued to rely on relatively conservative power limits across much of its premium smartphone range.

For users hoping the Galaxy S27 generation would finally bring a noticeable charging boost, the latest filing may therefore come as a disappointment.

Samsung’s approach could still reflect a broader focus on battery longevity, thermal management, and overall device reliability rather than headline charging figures.

No Charger Expected in the Box

The 3C information also indicates that both the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are expected to ship without a wall charger.

A USB Type-C cable is likely to be included in the retail package, continuing Samsung’s current practice across its flagship lineup.

The certification does not reveal the full specifications of the upcoming phones, leaving key details such as battery capacity, chipset, cameras, and display upgrades unconfirmed for now.

Still, the appearance of the Galaxy S27 and S27+ in a regulatory database suggests development is progressing, and further leaks and certifications are likely to emerge in the months ahead.
