Mobile World Congress (MWC) is set to commence on March 3rd in Barcelona, Spain. Many brands including Realme, Tecno, and more have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming trade show. Now, HMD has announced its MWC event and shared teasers on its official X handle. These give us an idea at what to expect from the Finnish brand. Additionally, an HMD tipster has also shared some key details about the upcoming devices.
HMD teases new phones and accessories
- HMD has scheduled its MWC launch event on March 2nd.
- The first teaser shows a smartphone with an FC Barcelona logo on the back panel.
- To recall, the Finnish brand became FCB’s official smartphone partner in August last year.
- Before this, OPPO was the football club’s partner and there were Barcelona-themed phones like the OPPO F1 Plus and Reno 10x Zoom.
- The teaser suggests that we could get an FCB-themed HMD phone, probably, the HMD Fusion (review) as per the square camera island with two sensors.
- The device initially debuted globally last September.
- HMD Global CEO states that the brand will be at Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona the entire next week and it will unveil a range of innovations from iconic collaborations to game-changing devices.
- Coming to the second teaser, it shows a small accessory and the company says ‘Power like never before’
- It’s unclear what this could be but as per an X user smashx_60, the accessory could be the HMD Amped Buds. The leaked schematic reveals an in-ear design with stem, a press-to-release mechanism, and support for wireless charging.
- As per the tipster, HMD is also expected to announce partnerships with Mattel, Lego, and more. The brand will also reportedly launch the Nokia 3510 4G feature phone.
- HMD is also expected to re-introduce the Fusion smartphone with smart new outfits and features at the MWC event.
For those unaware, the HMD Fusion debuted in India in November last year at a price tag of Rs 17,999. It comes with casual, flashy, and gaming outfits, each designed to offer durability, additional lightning for photography, and enhanced gaming experience. Core specifications of the HMD Fusion include a 90H display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 108MP primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.
