Google AI Mode Can Now Track Cheaper Flights and Help Book Hotels

Google is making trip planning easier with new features in AI Mode. Google has added flights price tracking, rewards comparisons, and hotel booking tools to its AI search experience Mode.

These features aim to reduce the need to switch between different travel websites and apps. Users can now ask AI Mode about flights, monitor prices, compare rewards points, and find hotels from the same conversation.

Google AI Mode Can Now Track Cheaper Flights and Help Book Hotels

Google is bringing flight price tracking directly into AI Mode. Users can tell Google where they want to travel and provide their preferred dates. AI Mode can then search current fares across more than 300 airlines and travel websites.

If the user is not ready to buy a ticket, they can ask Google to continue monitoring the price. Google will send an email when the fare changes.

The flight tracking feature is available across more than 180 countries. It could be useful for travelers who want to wait for a better deal instead of checking flight prices manually every day.

Google has offered price tracking through Google Flights for years. The new integration brings the same idea into AI Mode, allowing users to manage the search through a conversation.

Rewards points can also be compared

The new AI Mode features also target travelers who prefer using airline miles and hotel points.

Users can ask AI Mode how many rewards points or miles they need for a particular flight or hotel. This means they do not have to visit separate loyalty program websites to check redemption rates.

At launch, the feature supports programs and companies including Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels, Hilton, and Wyndham.

Google also plans to add more programs. Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM, and Lufthansa’s Miles & More are among the services expected to join later.

This could make it easier for frequent travelers to compare whether paying with cash or using rewards offers better value.

Hotel booking comes to AI Mode

Google is also adding a hotel booking option to AI Mode. Users can describe the type of hotel they want and provide details such as their budget and preferred location.

AI Mode can then show suitable hotels along with reviews and important information. After choosing a hotel, users can select the “Continue on Google” option to move through the booking process.

The process includes selecting a room, checking the cancellation policy, and completing payment through Google Pay.

However, Google does not directly handle the hotel transaction. The hotel or booking service remains responsible for the reservation and customer support.

Rolling out in the US

The hotel booking feature is rolling out in the United States over the coming weeks. Google is working with several major travel companies, including Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, and Priceline.

With these additions, Google is turning AI Mode into a more useful travel planning tool. Instead of searching for flights, checking rewards programs, and finding hotels separately, users can handle more of the process through one AI conversation.

The new tools do not remove the need to compare options before making a purchase, but they could make the early stages of trip planning much faster and simpler.
