Rumors suggested earlier this week that Oppo Find X8 Ultra would be launching in China in March, but that may have been a bit too optimistic.
Today, Oppo’s Find series product manager, Zhou Yibao, confirmed that the Find X8 Ultra will actually be unveiled in April and will go on sale in the same month.
Zhou also hinted that the Find X8 Ultra might be the only Ultra phone from a Chinese manufacturer this year with a flat screen. He mentioned it would feature the “narrowest something in the world,” though he didn’t specify exactly what that refers to—perhaps the bezels? The Ultra is rumored to feature a 6.82-inch “2K” OLED display made by BOE, a 1-inch type main camera, two periscope telephoto cameras, and an ultrawide camera.
In addition to the Ultra, Oppo is set to launch a new “ultra-thin small screen flagship,” which is likely the previously rumored Find X8 Next. This device, previously known as the Find X8 Mini, aligns with the “small screen flagship” description. The rebranding may be part of Oppo’s strategy to position it against the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone 17 Air, as it is rumored to be between 7 mm and 7.99 mm thin.
