Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy A55, bringing the February 2025 security patch to fix a number of security vulnerabilities on the device. While this isn’t the One UI 7.0 update that many were expecting, it still improves the phone’s performance and security.
The update comes with firmware version A556BXXS6AYB2 and is currently rolling out in Europe. It may expand to other regions like Africa, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and North America in the future.
Galaxy A55 users in Europe can check for updates by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Alternatively, users can also download the firmware from Samsung’s official source and install it manually using the Odin tool on their PC.
The Galaxy A55 launches with Android 14 and One UI 6.1, and Samsung has committed to supporting four major Android OS updates. The device could receive Android 15 in the next few months, followed by Android 16 later in the year, and two more updates in the years after that.
