Two-Month Relaxation in Ownership Transfer Process

The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has introduced a temporary easing of regulations for vehicle ownership transfers. As per an official notification, the mandatory biometric verification requirement for sellers has been suspended until August 14.

During this period, sellers can complete vehicle transfers by submitting only their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), eliminating the need for in-person biometric authentication.

Faster and Smoother Transactions for Public Convenience

This interim measure aims to:
✔ Simplify the transfer process
✔ Reduce delays caused by biometric verification
✔ Lessen the workload on department staff

The move comes as a major relief to vehicle owners and dealers who previously faced bottlenecks due to the biometric mandate.

Officials Confirm Temporary Nature of Relaxation

While this waiver facilitates easier transactions, Excise Department officials emphasize that it is only a short-term measure.

⚠ Important Note: The biometric verification requirement will be fully reinstated after August 14, 2024.

Advisory for Buyers and Sellers

The department encourages the public to utilize this window for hassle-free ownership transfers. Additionally, all parties must:
✅ Ensure correct documentation
✅ Comply with remaining legal formalities

This step is expected to enhance service efficiency while providing immediate relief to citizens engaged in vehicle transfers across Sindh.
