The camera system is one of the biggest highlights of the Mate 90 Pro Max. The phone features a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, RYYB technology, optical image stabilization (OIS), and a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture.

Huawei has paired the main camera with a 40MP ultrawide sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto camera also uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor, RYYB technology, and OIS.

The camera system supports up to 4x optical zoom, 8x optical-quality zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. Huawei has also added its third-generation Red Maple primary-color camera to improve color reproduction in photos.

The Collector’s Edition offers an even more advanced camera setup through Huawei’s optional Ruiying Z10 module. The accessory features a 1-inch RYYB sensor, a 10x continuous optical zoom and a 24-240mm focal range. It also has a variable f/2.0-f/4.5 aperture.

The phone can record videos in 4K resolution. For selfies and video calls, it has a 13MP autofocus ultrawide front camera along with a 3D depth-sensing camera.
