The Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme is being expanded nationwide following its initial rollout in Islamabad, with Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja conducting surprise inspections to review implementation.

The minister visited several petrol pumps in Islamabad for a second consecutive day, speaking directly with motorists about registration difficulties and explaining how to obtain subsidized fuel.

She was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of IT and the Islamabad district administration.

Nationwide Rollout Through Digital Registration

Shaza Fatima said the scheme would be extended across Pakistan from September 17.

Eligible citizens can register through the 9771 SMS system. Once registered, they must send TOK to 9771 before visiting a participating petrol pump to generate a fuel token.

The minister explained the process to citizens during her visits and emphasized that registration only needs to be completed once.

Shaza Fatima Orders Strict Monitoring

The minister directed the administration and petrol pump owners to ensure uninterrupted fuel relief for eligible citizens.

She also ordered strict monitoring of petrol stations that delay or refuse to provide subsidized petrol.

Motorists present during the visits expressed appreciation for the relief initiative, according to information shared about the inspections.
