Samsung Expands Galaxy AI and Bixby With New Language Support

Samsung is making its Galaxy AI ecosystem more accessible by expanding language support across several AI-powered features and Bixby. The latest update adds new languages to tools designed for translation, transcription, summarization and natural-language device control.

The company announced the expansion on October 14, 2026, with Bixby receiving its new languages starting immediately, while additional languages for Galaxy AI features will roll out over the coming weeks.

Galaxy AI Adds Hungarian and Malay

Samsung is adding Hungarian and Malay to several of its major Galaxy AI tools.

The newly supported languages are available for:

  • Call Assist
  • Interpreter
  • Note Assist
  • Transcript Assist
  • Live Translate

With these additions, Samsung says its supported Galaxy AI language count reaches 24 languages for the relevant features. This means users who speak Hungarian or Malay can use more translation and transcription functions directly on compatible Galaxy devices.

Now Nudge Gets Eight More Languages

Samsung is also expanding language support for Now Nudge, an AI feature that analyzes what's currently displayed on the screen and suggests potentially useful next actions.

The latest update adds eight languages:

  • Dutch
  • Filipino
  • Gujarati
  • Hungarian
  • Malay
  • Romanian
  • Swedish
  • Turkish

With these additions, Now Nudge also reaches 24 supported languages.

This could make the feature more useful for people who prefer interacting with their Galaxy devices in languages other than English.

Bixby Adds Polish, Thai and Vietnamese

Samsung's updated Bixby is also receiving a language expansion.

The AI assistant now adds:

  • Polish
  • Thai
  • Vietnamese

This brings Bixby's total supported languages to 12.

The updated Bixby is designed to understand natural-language requests. Users don't necessarily need to remember the exact name of a setting or know where it is located. Instead, they can describe what they want to accomplish, and Bixby can help them find the relevant device controls.

When Will the New Languages Arrive?

Bixby's new language support begins rolling out from October 14, while the additional Galaxy AI languages will arrive over the following weeks. Samsung notes that the exact rollout schedule can vary depending on the device and country.

Some of the new Galaxy AI languages can also be downloaded as language packs through the Settings app.

Samsung Galaxy AI Now Supports 24 Languages

Samsung's expanded Galaxy AI language list includes languages such as Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese, with some regional variants included in Samsung's language definitions.

The expansion is particularly useful for features such as Live Translate, where language availability can directly determine whether users can take advantage of real-time translation.

A More Accessible Galaxy AI Experience

Samsung has been steadily expanding Galaxy AI beyond the initial language options introduced with its AI-powered Galaxy devices. Adding more languages makes features such as translation, transcription and contextual assistance accessible to a wider range of users.

While the update doesn't introduce a completely new AI feature, broader language support could have a bigger practical impact for users who previously had limited access to Samsung's AI tools.

Samsung's latest move also shows that language support is becoming an increasingly important part of the competition between smartphone AI platforms.

Final Thoughts

Samsung's latest Galaxy AI update is focused on making existing AI features available to more people, rather than introducing another major headline feature.

Hungarian and Malay are now coming to several Galaxy AI tools, Now Nudge is expanding to eight additional languages, and Bixby is gaining Polish, Thai and Vietnamese. With Bixby reaching 12 languages and several Galaxy AI features reaching 24, Samsung is continuing to make its AI ecosystem more globally accessible.
