Fixed-line broadband services in Pakistan remain expensive for consumers looking for high-speed internet, with monthly prices reaching up to Rs61,600 for a 1,000 Mbps connection. Some packages also come with monthly data limits and fair-usage policies.

According to the latest tariff comparison released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), broadband prices vary significantly among operators and increase considerably as users move toward higher speeds.

Transworld Charges Rs61,600 for 1,000 Mbps

Transworld has the highest listed price among the packages included in the comparison. Its 1,000 Mbps FTTH package costs Rs61,600 per month, excluding taxes.

The company’s 500 Mbps package is priced at Rs36,550, while the 300 Mbps and 200 Mbps packages cost Rs19,675 and Rs10,099, respectively.

These prices show how quickly monthly broadband costs can increase for consumers seeking gigabit-level connectivity.

PTCL Packages Include Data Limits

PTCL offers a range of FTTH packages with different speeds and monthly usage limits. Its 40 Mbps package costs Rs3,350 and comes with a 2.5-terabyte volume limit.

The 100 Mbps package costs Rs6,900 with a 4 TB limit, while the 200 Mbps package is priced at Rs13,500 with a 6 TB limit. Its 350 Mbps package costs Rs23,000 and includes an 8 TB monthly limit.

The tariff data shows that faster advertised speeds do not always mean unlimited usage. PTCL’s FTTH packages have specified monthly volumes, while its DSL packages are listed as unlimited.

PTCL’s DSL services start at Rs2,999 for 10 Mbps and go up to Rs10,999 for 100 Mbps. The PTA lists an overage download charge of Rs100 per GB, although the service becomes unlimited after an additional 15 GB beyond the quota.

StormFiber, Optix and Other Providers

StormFiber’s packages range from Rs1,699 for 2 Mbps to Rs14,399 for 250 Mbps. Its 100 Mbps package costs Rs7,399, while the 180 Mbps option is priced at Rs12,299.

Optix offers 30 Mbps at around Rs2,328, 50 Mbps at Rs2,910, 75 Mbps at Rs3,783, 100 Mbps at Rs4,656 and 200 Mbps at approximately Rs8,004. However, these packages are subject to the company’s fair-usage policy.

Wateen’s FTTH packages start at Rs3,318 for 10 Mbps and reach Rs20,594 for 100 Mbps. Its 50 Mbps package costs Rs9,584.

WorldCall’s cable broadband remains one of the lower-cost options in the comparison. Its packages start at Rs699 for 1 Mbps unlimited service and go up to Rs3,500 for 10 Mbps.

For FTTH connections, WorldCall offers packages starting at Rs2,350 for 10 Mbps and going up to Rs11,400 for 100 Mbps.

Brainnet offers 8 Mbps at Rs1,799 and 15 Mbps at Rs1,999, while its 500 Mbps package is priced at Rs16,728.

Taxes Will Increase Final Cost

The PTA has clarified that the listed figures represent monthly charges and do not include applicable taxes. This means the final amount paid by consumers will be higher than the prices shown in the comparison.

The tariff data also highlights that internet users need to look beyond advertised speeds when choosing a broadband package. Monthly data limits, overage charges and fair-usage policies can significantly affect the overall cost.

The PTA has also noted that its comparison does not cover every location-specific or region-based package available in the market. Consumers are advised to check the latest tariffs and package conditions directly with their respective broadband providers before subscribing.

The comparison covers major fixed-line broadband operators, including PTCL, WorldCall Telecom, Wateen Telecom, Optix Pakistan, StormFiber, Transworld and Brainnet.

Overall, the PTA data shows a wide gap in broadband pricing across Pakistan, particularly at higher speeds, where monthly charges can reach tens of thousands of rupees.
